We’re committed to improving the quality of housing we provide to residents as part of our Better Together strategy, and one way we plan to do this is through our Renew programme.
Your home may be among those to benefit from the improvements offered by Renew, which can include repainting of communal areas; kitchen and bathroom replacements; and energy efficiency enhancements resulting in lower bills and work to the outside of the building.
To allow this fully funded programme to go ahead, we will need to transfer the tenancy of all homes within the building to one of our subsidiaries – Springboard Two Housing Association. There is no change to your tenancy when this transfer happens – the only difference you may notice is the letterhead on any letters we send you. You can find out more below.
Our plans will, of course, be subject to consultation and we’d love to hear your views. Please check out the letter and leaflet you receive for full details on how you can have your say on the plans.
Please read the Q&A below to understand more about the programme, the transfer to Springboard Two and what it means for you:
Springboard Two
It is part of Notting Hill Genesis – a subsidiary but managed in the same way your home currently. Your housing officer, the other services we provide and how you engage with us all stay the same. The only change you’re likely to notice is the letterhead on any letters we send you.
This is a technical solution that allows us to access additional funding, which we can then spend on improving your home and surroundings.
We want to invest heavily in significant improvements to your home and building, including enhancing its energy efficiency, replacing various components and creating something you are even more proud to call home. To invest that heavily, we need to release the additional funding via this transfer.
Not at all. Your tenancy agreement remains the same, as does your rent and any service charge you pay. Work will be carried out at no cost to you, and if you do need to raise any repairs, this is done via the same means as now.
Works schedule
We will let residents know the specific timeline for your building or estate prior to any work starting, but the image below sets out the key stages of the programme from pre-approval to completion, what happens at each stage and which team will be responsible.
Yes, you will be contacted in advance to discuss which days and times our consultants and/or contractors will require access.
Our contractors will take every possible precaution to ensure impact to your daily routine is minimal, but in the unlikely event of that changing, we will keep you informed.
General questions
You will have a resident liaison officer (RLO) from our contractor, who will be the main contact. We will share their details before any work starts.
The site team will be in regular contact throughout the project, keeping you updated on progress and letting you know who to speak to if you have any queries.
You should speak to the site team as soon as possible.
The site team ensure all work meets health and safety guidelines, with contractors following construction, design and management regulations. If you have any concerns, speak to your RLO.
