A community garden at Manor Place Depot has been transformed by the efforts of residents, staff and contractors.
In recent years, the green areas on the estate had become a shell of their former self, with dying plants and compacted soil. But thanks to hard work from the estate operations team and the input of residents and Just Ask contractors, the gardens have been given a new lease of life with the aim of not only being visually attractive but also hard-wearing, bringing much needed biodiversity.

We carried out engagement sessions and surveys so we could better understand what Manor Place Depot residents wanted for their gardens. We then worked with Just Ask to create a design that meets the needs of the community while bringing nature onto their estate.
A huge thank you to the team at Just Ask for providing their volunteers to plant on the day, alongside the residents at Manor Place Depot who took the time to engage in the project.
We’re so excited to continue making improvements like these to the estate to make it a better place for residents to enjoy. Our next focus is to work with residents to find some more spaces for plants that residents will be responsible for maintaining with our funding and support as well as looking after those that have been replanted.
