Last week we successfully applied for the assets of a disbarred barrister to be frozen, over allegations she induced a tenant to pay his rent directly into her bank account.
This is the second of our residents to have been involved with Katrina McCarthy, who acts as a ‘Mckenzie friend’ (someone who offers legal advice in good faith) and advises them to pay their rent to her.
There is an ongoing legal battle with Ms McCarthy and our solicitors have issued a press release which has been picked up in legal publications and blogs.
We are working with the resident to keep them in their home.
