The Oaklands Rise community recently celebrated a significant achievement as six young athletes, including two of their residents, took part in the Playfest 3x3 basketball tournament.
Under the guidance of their dedicated coach, a member of the Oaklands Rise concierge team, the team showcased remarkable effort and sportsmanship, advancing all the way to the finals.
The South Park Playfest 2024, hosted by Sands End Arts & Community Centre in partnership with the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, was a vibrant day filled with fun, games, music and sports. It featured a range of activities including dance, table tennis, football and tennis, ensuring there was something for everyone.
Overall, the day successfully fostered community spirit and provided a platform for residents to connect with one another, while the tournament was a testament to the dedication and hard work of the young athletes. Although they did not win the final game, the experience was invaluable and brought the community closer together.
Their coach expressed immense pride in the team’s achievements and the positive impact the experience had on developing our young players and the community.
