As part of our local and personalised service, your housing officer will meet with you in your home at least once a year.
This will be an opportunity for you to discuss any tenancy or property issues you may have with them. It is also a chance for your housing officer to check the information we have on our records, and ensure your home is in good condition.
Your housing officer can also update you on changes to our services, for example, the self-service portal which allows you to book repair appointments and make payments.
For the last 18 months these visits have been virtual, but since the summer we have started to carry them out face to face in your home. Ahead of this, our resident Oversight and Scrutiny group reviewed the visits to make sure that they provide a good experience.
As a result of this, we will make sure that we contact you in advance to arrange the visit and make sure that we explain why we are asking questions.
The group also recommended that we get regular feedback following visits so we can make sure that we are providing a good experience. If you are contacted to complete a survey after your annual visit, then please give feedback. Some recent comments received are:
“He looked around and anything that needed to be done he assured us that he will report it and he was make sure that it’s done”
“My housing officer was very helpful, he answered all my questions and helped me raise some repairs”
If you have not had an annual visit and would like to arrange one, why not get in touch with your housing officer to book one in.
Housing officers also inspect the communal areas in you block or scheme on a monthly basis to make sure they are safe and cleaned to high standards. If you have any concerns or questions about your communal areas, you can get in touch with your housing officer to join them on their next estate inspection.
